Katie never had much use for food and the effects it had on her until she started feeling badly. Then she started to have serious health problems. It was a nurse that finally diagnosed her with "Graves Disease" after over eight years since; she has been diagnosed with six more autoimmune disorders in the last five years.
Acknowledging new symptoms was Katie's best defense. This awareness was brought upon by eliminating toxins and eating real food to help her stay as healthy as possible. This included cutting out artificial food, colorings, flavors, refined food (not enough information provided to the consumer), and included moderate exercise.
This new trust of her body's instincts has allowed Katie to be more capable of providing what her body needs. The constant variety of whole grains, legumes, beans and seeds as well as plenty of greens and fruit has caused major positive changes.
After five years of making multiple variations on this recipe, she began to notice that her friends (and their friends) were offering to buy it. Thus, hash·mash was born- made from healthy, living ingredients which are incredible for your body and sustainable for the earth.
